INTERNATIONAL ANIMATION DAY 2026
On October 28, we gather at Atelier PEPH in Vienna to worship the moving image. The pictures have come to life, and there are lots of films to watch!
Five screenings bringing together Austrian and international animation — from award-winning documentaries and unruly experiments to wandering music videos.
19:30 — TRICKNACHT
A journey through Austrian artistic animation, curated by Mariela Schöffmann. Different generations, different techniques — drawing, trickery and experiments.
20:30 — GIL ALKABETZ
A small homage to Gil Alkabetz and his wonderfully inventive films, where drawings have minds of their own. Including films made in workshops with him.
21:15 — FLIPBOOK ANI DOCS
Award-winning animated documentaries selected by Skopje’s Flipbook Film Festival. Family ties, tangled memories and the peculiar business of being human.
22:30 — WTF OFF
A delirious cabinet of unruly animation, curated by Sébastien Sperer. The 2026 programme brings together films that don’t quite know how to behave.
23:30 — SERATO ANIMATO
A nomadic screening project bringing animated music videos from the underground. Wandering sounds, moving images, temporary night cinema.
